Mina Miryanova

Mina Miryanova is a classically trained Bulgarian artist, currently living in Ireland. She received a BFA in Illustration at Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida and a following MA in Fine Arts at the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK. Her practice involves mainly traditional oil painting and graphic media, though the artist often ventures in the exploration of sculpting and other crafts. Dominating themes are people and animal’s portraits, as well as dramatic scapes, fusing both real and surreal, occasionally introducing symbolic objects and comical notes as to initiate a story or impart a message. A major trend throughout her concept of choice is morphing. Anthropomorphic beings are often subjected to some transformation, altering their appearance and/or environment.
